"Making a Difference for the Children of Stanislaus County"

Content

In 2001, the Stanislaus County Board of Directors evaluated and determined some of the Stanislaus County PAL participants were not engaging in other programs/activities that can enrich their childhood. The main reason for this was due to lack of funding for many of these families. With this in mind the Stanislaus County PAL Board of Directors decided to create an annual fundraiser that would raise funds for a youth scholarship for PAL participants, field trips/special events at the Stanislaus County PAL programs, and an Employee Educational Scholarship.

Since the inception of this program, it has provided many children with opportunities to join/participate in soccer leagues, football leagues, dance classes, BMX races, etc. In addition, it has provided us the opportunity to take children on special field trips such as: Marine World Six-Flags, The Island Water park, Huntington Beach Play Day, and many other special activities at the after school programs.

Do you know a child that attends any Stanislaus County PAL After School Program and needs a sponsor to participate in any type of sports league, summer camps, education program, etc.?

If so, Stanislaus County PAL is offering YOUTH SCHOLARSHIPS for any child that attends any Stanislaus County PAL After School Program. This is a great opportunity especially for those families going through financial hardship. Stanislaus County PAL wants to help a well deserving child have a good and fun summer by allowing him/her to participate in a sports league, summer camp, or enrichment activity, etc.

This program must NOT be mistaken as Leisure Bucks, but rather a Stanislaus County PAL program which all applications are evaluated based on need, and if the child is a Stanislaus County PAL participant. This program is on a first come first serve basis and award amounts will be based on cost of activity applying and availability of funding.

Requirements:

  • Child must be a regular participant of a Stanislaus County PAL After School Program. NO EXCEPTIONS TO THE RULE!
  • A Youth Scholarship application must be submitted, completed and with all required documents to the Stanislaus County PAL office.
